The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed

"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary." - H.L. Mencken

Now the President and interventionists in Congress are claiming there's a "crisis" in Syria. They claim President Bashar al-Assad is about to use "weapons of mass destruction" against his own people.
DOES THAT SOUND FAMILIAR?

ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS:
Would YOU write a check to support a Syrian rebel group?
Do YOU want your taxes used to support them?
Would YOU be willing to fight alongside them?
Would YOU want our children or grandchildren to be sent for this purpose?
Do YOU want our armed forces to go to Syria?

If your answer say "no" , please write a letter to Congress!
It's very simple to do when you use sites like POPVOX or  use DownsizeDC.org's "Stop Policing the World" campaign here:

NO THANKS, NO GETTING INVOLVED IN SYRIA! NO!!!!
The hardwired message says...

Defend America only. Do not manipulate or police the world.

DDC added these comments, which you may borrow from or copy...

I DO NOT CONSENT to our Syria policy.

Tell Obama to send those troops home. Declare neutrality in Syria's civil war.

Protecting the Syrian people from al-Assad's chemical weapons is the pretext for Obama's move.

    I'm skeptical...

After Iraq, Libya, and countless other wars, why should I believe my so-called "government?"

Assad may be brutal, but his downfall will NOT necessarily end the civil war. The divided rebels -- some moderate, SOME WITH AL QAEDA TIES -- will surely continue to struggle for power. http://bit.ly/VeaiGU

Should our troops be tossed into that hornets nest? How will they tell friend from foe?

Have you learned nothing from Iraq or Afghanistan (not to mention Vietnam)?

Or from Libya, where the rebels we helped "thanked" us by bombing our embassy?

If the rebel cause is so important to you...

    * Donate your OWN money to them. Don't force me to do it with taxes.

    * Better yet, you fight alongside them.

Have the U.S. armed forces defend America only.

Deny funds for the rebels and explicitly deny authorization for war. Impeach the President if he ignores you. Only Congress has the authority to declare war.

Sincerely,
[your name here]

DOES WASHINGTON REALLY BELIEVE ONE MORE WAR WILL HELP THE ECONOMY?
LIKE THE CLINTON TEAM SAID, "IT IS ABOUT THE ECONOMY, STUPID!"
